This small ceramic teapot, known in Japan as a kyusu, features a gentle green base adorned with hand-painted red plum blossoms. Its lightweight, compact form fits comfortably in one hand. 

The body’s textured surface is created using a traditional technique called itome. After shaping the body and letting it dry, a slightly viscous layer of clay called nota is applied. Threads are then gently pressed into the surface, causing the clay to rise and form unique ridges that resemble pine bark. This process gives the teapot a warm, earthy texture.

With a capacity of 200 ml (6.8 fl oz), it is perfect for brewing Japanese teas such as sencha or bancha for 1–3 people.
