Entirely handcrafted, the Shino Blush Footed Rectangle Dinner Plate shows the subtle individuality of the artisan’s hand in every line and curve. Its raised form and softly rounded edges follow a natural rhythm, while rope-impressed textures lend the surface a quiet movement, like traces of wind over sand. A layer of soft pink-white Shino glaze pools richly across the surface, and at the base, the warm orange clay body is visible. 

Each plate is made from mogusa clay and coated with Shino glaze, creating a subtle color unique to every piece. The Shino glaze, made from feldspar, naturally contracts during firing to form a fine, crackled, and porous pattern known as kairagi—a “plum-blossom skin” texture cherished for its organic beauty and depth. Over time, the pattern deepens, allowing the plate to age gracefully and develop character with each use.

This rectangular plate beautifully frames side dishes and appetizers. The slightly elevated footing gives it a refined presence on the table. The elegant packaging also makes a lovely gift.
