Negoro Designed Two Tiers Jubako Bento Box

This octagonal jubako Bento box is the right size for two people and is filled with traditional Yamanaka lacquerware techniques.

The surface is finished with a technique called nuno-bari (cloth-covered), in which the surface is covered with cloth to increase strength and add a fabric pattern, creating a traditional texture.

The lacquer finish is suri-urushi (wiped lacquer), which means that the black lacquer applied as a base is visible in places under the vermilion lacquer. The balance between red and black coloring shifts over time, a unique feature of lacquer.

The dividers make it easy to serve, look beautiful, and prevent the flavors from mixing.

It can be carried wrapped in a furoshiki as a bento box, or of course, it can be used as tableware with snacks, sushi, sweets, etc., at the dining table to create an eye-catching table setting. It is also great as a jewelry box or small container displayed on a shelf.
